All Aboard Model Starship

A couple of months ago, we dropped the artist Max Hattler to tell him how much we admired his work. We did a little Q&A with him right here on Journal and then met up for coffee. The idea of a collaboration came about and a make-up bag full of autumn/winter 2012 products were duly thrust into his arms. This short abstract film – Model Starship – (with sound by Eduardo Noya Schreus) is the result.

We love it! What do you think?

Lips of Babel

No matter how many times I watch this, I simply cannot take my eyes off it. Created by photographer and ex-model Elle Muliarchyk, Lips of Babel features 50 models reciting tongue twisters in their native language.

Totally mesmerising.

Truth is not in the surface

Even though I’ve come a little late to this, it’s impossible not to post about Nicola Formichetti’s muse Rick Genest (also known as Zombie Boy). Seen above in Thierry Mugler’s autumn/winter 2011 men’s campaign, he was also featured in a cleverly conceived advertisement for Dermablend Professional – Genest’s tattoos were concealed with the brand’s Leg and Body Cover foundation.

You have to watch it to believe it.
